Springdale Farm Christmas Cake

Ingredients:
Fruit juice 1/2 cup(s)
Maple Syrup 1/2 cup(s)
Sour cream 1/2 cup(s)
Strawberry jam 1/2 cup(s)
Flour 4 1/2 cups(s)
Butter 1 lb(s)
Granulated Maple Sugar 1 lb(s)
Seeded Raisins 1 lb(s)
Almonds 1/2 lb(s)
Dates 3/4 lb(s)
Currants 3/4 lb(s)
Mixed Fruit 1/2 lb(s)
Glazed Cherries 1/2 lb(s)
Seedless Raisins 1 1/2 lb(s)
Salt 1 pinch
Almond Extract 1/2 tsp
Nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon 1/2 tsp
Baking Soda 1 tsp
Eggs 9 unit(s)

Directions:

  • Have butter soft.
  • Add sugar to butter and cream well.
  • Then add nuts, peels and fruits, stir well.
  • Add liquids and well beaten eggs.
  • Sift flour, soda and spices together and add to other ingredients.
  • Bake in a slow oven 275°F or steam 4 hours.
  • Bake in 3 layers.
  • This is not a real dark cake.
